22 Aug WekFest San Jose 2016 Part 1

This was a crazy weekend to say the least. It’s been a long time since we’ve done a NorCal show as it’s usually hard for us considering we have the shop to run on saturdays. But because some people wanted us up there, we made the trek up. By no means was it easy. Leaving SD at 10am, arriving in San Jose by 5am definitely took a toll on us for being at WekFest on Saturday during roll in. Then after WekFest and dinner, arriving back at the hotel around 1am, sleeping at 2am, then leaving there by 5am monday morning to make it back to SD was not what we were expecting to do at all. But we did it all because we wanted to support WekFest and everything they do.

But enough of that. Just a little rant because it was a long and exhausting weekend I wasn’t mentally prepared for. So after resting for a little bit after that long ass drive friday night/saturday morning, we went to San Jose’s local Public Market. Didn’t have time to go to the city and by looking at the traffic, it was a good idea cause it would’ve taken over a hour to get there and I didn’t want to do all that. Lots of excellent food and drink choices but we settled on a place called Konjoe because they had something on there menu that was just calling out to me. That was Pork Belly. So we ordered a Pork Belly Sandwich and Pork Baos. Two of the most delicious lunch meal items i’ve had in a long time. Both were so juicy and tender and just all around satisfying. From that moment on, regardless of how the day went, that day was a good day.

Thankfully we were able to take pictures during roll in. It’s always a lot less stressful when you don’t have droves of people walking in front of your shots and all you can do is sit there and be patient. Especially at WekFest NorCal where tons of people fill up those aisles and it becomes next to impossible to take pictures. It also means I can take my time and try to get better angles or shots from different positions to see what would work best for that car, or at least pretend I do.

I’ll get more in depth about how we felt about WekFest Norcal, basically how amazing it was, in our next post so please enjoy part 1 as part 2 will be available tomorrow!
