Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach ALMS 2010
April 20, 2010 by Special KI have to say this early as myself as well as everyone that went with us couldn’t be more appreciative, but a big THANK YOU to Nick and Kevin from Falken for getting us tickets to this glorious event. We might not have gone if it wasn’t for their gratitude so major thanks to them. On with the experience!
All I can say is… wow. The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is a great event full of excitement all day long. They literally have everything any motorsport fan would love to see. From celebrity races, to drift demos, to ALMS and everything else in between was on hand all in one fantastic weekend. The AF crew was only there for the Saturday festivities, and the main reason for us to be there, which was the excitement that is ALMS.
I’m slowly becoming a bigger and bigger fan of the race series. Ever since last years experience, I’ve been hooked. The speed that the ALMS cars go and the technical aspects of each car is mind boggling to me and seeing them in person is like no other experience. For 100 minutes my eyes were glued on the race and seeing all the missteps and the triumphs put a smile on my face and I couldn’t be happier. It would be nice if I’d be able to drive in one of those bad boys or even just do a ride along, but it’s just a nice wish for now.
All in all, the event was great. Spending time with friends and family and venturing into new areas we’re not familiar with is a humbling experience. We can only look forward to the future and hopefully get to experience something like this again. Special K…OUT!
